A small borough located in western Bucks County, Chalfont is a primarily rural region that is home to a number of farms and residential communities. Originally a settlement of the Lenape Native Americans, the village of Chalfont grew around a tavern, one which still stands stands to this day. Though it went through a number of name changes in history, officials settled on Chalfont in honor of the English home of William Penn’s first wife. The area contains a historic district, which houses many structures built in the colonial and Victorian styles.
