About Morrisville PA

Located along the banks of the Delaware River, Morrisville is a moderately-sized region that is best known as a residential community. Originally a trading post for the Dutch West India Company in 1624, the town continued to expand as industry became more prominent in the surrounding area and in nearby Philadelphia. It was home to Graystones, the site which was purchased from the Lenni Lenape Native Americans by William Penn, marking the first of such transactions with the natives of Pennsylvania. Robert Morris, for whom the town is named, was one of America’s founding fathers; his home still stands in Morrisville. In 2015, it was estimated that the population had dropped by 1.4% to a total of 8,605 individuals, with a median income of $43,095.
