How do I begin to buy a diamond engagement ring? Who do I trust?

As we get older and enter into relationships, sometimes one of those relationships get to the next level where we may start to consider buying a diamond engagement ring to give to the person we want to spend the rest of our life with.  As with any big decision we all have to make, the most important part is to educate ourselves so that we  are comfortable and confident in the item we buy, and the person we buy it from. That is where I come in.

Custom Diamond Ring by DGE&J

My name is Greg Glemser and I am co-owner of Doylestown Gold Exchange & Jewelers with three other family members.  I am a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America and have been selling diamond rings for over 15 years and pride myself on educating and making my customers know that in the end they got a great product, service, and price and they will never have to second guess their decision to by from our store.

Over the past 10 years we have seen a significant increase in the price of gold, silver, platinum, and diamonds.  So now when you are looking to buy an engagement ring and take the next step, it is as important as ever to go to a place that you feel is honest, trustworthy, reputable and will treat you fair. With the web it is easy to search and with all the stores in your area you can visit a million places and probably be even more confused then when you started. For me the first place to start is the education part of the process and then from there everything else will fall into place.

When looking at a diamond and how it is graded, it can be confusing by the prices you see and the terminology you may hear. I try to make it simple and stick to the terms most people might of heard of.  The most commonly know “term” related with diamonds and price is The four C’s. The four C’s are clarity, color, carat Weight, and cut. These four terms are the most important terms to know and understand to help you purchase the diamond of your choice.  Everyone has an order of importance of the four C’s and which one should be number one on your list.  With my experience and education I have had in the classroom and store, I will go through each of the four topics and explain each one individually, how they interact together, and how each can, and will effect the price of the diamond.

Our new location in Cross Keys

Our store is different from most jewelers, gold buyers, or diamond wholesalers you may seen or heard about on the radio and once you walk in the store or talk to us on the phone you will realize right away you the customer are the most important thing to us.  Our goal is to sell you the piece you want in the price range you can afford.  We buy gold, silver, and diamonds along with many other items, so the price of the diamonds we sell are unbeatable in today’s market for the quality we can offer.

After working with you and educating you on the diamond itself, we will next move into finding the mounting you would like to set the diamond in.  We have mountings in the store, we can order them, and we make a lot of custom diamond rings to make sure it is exactly what you want.  The custom design process starts with an idea of the ring you want, then we can have computer pictures made, then a wax made for you to hold and see what the ring will look like, then a finished casting with all the stones set and ring finished.  This step by step process insures in the end you get the ring you want and we can make changes along the way to get everything you want in the final product.

My favorite part of selling diamonds is meeting the people and developing relationships that last many years. Doylestown Gold Exchange & Jewelers is building something that you won’t find anywhere else.  The combination of our education, experience, and service will make you glad you decided to stop in and see what we are all about.  Please pick up the phone and speak to myself or one of the other owners and see what we have to offer. We look forward to working with you for this purchase and many more after.
