Jewelry & Watch Repair: What to Look For

watch repair in PAReputation matters. When you look for someone to fix your car, put a new roof on your house or represent you in court, you’d base your decision on whether that person had a reputation for providing trustworthy, quality service.

The same thinking applies when choosing someone to handle your jewelry & watch repair in PA.

Here are six reasons why Doylestown Gold Exchange is that store:

  1. We know what we’re talking about

Greg Glemser, one of our three owners, is a graduate gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America. He received his degree in 2004, has training in grading and identifying gems, and has logged several hours in the GIA lab grading diamonds.

This means Greg has the expertise to give you the best price when buying or selling a diamond. His training also helps him with jewelry repair. When customers stop in to get rid of unwanted gold or jewelry, Greg’s training allows him to see value in them that other stores might overlook.

  1. We’ll be honest with you: the cheapest isn’t the best

Jewelry/watch repair is an art. It’s not something where you can go with the lowest cost service and still expect to get the best work. Choosing the least expensive option could end up costing you more in the long run if the repairs aren’t effective. Let’s face it: Paying for expert jewelry and watch repair is going to cost you a lot less than replacing a lost diamond from your engagement ring.

  1. We’ll keep you in the loop

When you drop off your watch or your piece of jewelry, we’ll give you a free estimate for the work, and offer a detailed explanation of the repairs we plan to do. Your items will be insured while they’re in our care, and will always be hand-delivered –never shipped—to our shop.

  1. We make sure our work is timely

We take care to make sure the work we do on your jewelry or your watch is done correctly, but we also try to do it quickly. For jewelry, most jobs take one to two weeks. With watch repair in PA, it’s three to four weeks. We can work faster by request, and some repairs can even be done while you wait.

  1. We’ve been voted “the best”

Readers of our local newspaper chose us as the best jewelry store in the region for three years in a row: 2013, 2014 and 2015. We have our fingers crossed for 2016. We might also mention that Doylestown Gold Exchange was a finalist in the Happening List for Bucks Happening Magazine, and was recently featured in an article on JCK Magazine Online for our exceptional services and customer experience.

  1. We’re family owned and operated

When you walk into Doylestown Gold Exchange, you’ll always be greeted by an owner. We look forward to you stopping in for a repair, or to buy or sell gold or silver, or shop for an engagement ring. We’re proud of the reputation we’ve developed and know you’ll be proud of the work we do for you.

  1. My wife has a really nice vintage watch, and she really wanted to get it repaired. It makes sense that choosing the least expensive option could cost you more in the long run. I am assuming that it is a “get what you pay for” type service, and I would want the best!
